Anne Arundel County Model Government Program

Submitted by Mrs. Jenkins on December 15, 2009 - 3:45pm

On March15, 2010, selected 10th and 11th grade students will have the opportunity to “take over the reins” of government and serve as elected officials and department heads. Students will have the opportunity to attend an orientation to county government, shadow a county government official, and participate in a mock council meeting.

To enter, 10th and 11th grade students should complete the attached entry form, to include information about their volunteer and public service activities, and submit a short essay about what the student would hope to accomplish if given the chance to serve as a county official.

Completed applications should be sent by January 15, 2010, to the address listed on the entry form.
